The Forest

The mountains were quite, the morning sodden
The lake was dark, shadowed were the trees
The insects were asleep, waiting to be awaken
In a slumber were the animals, asleep were the bees

The birds asleep had filled the nests on the trees
Dark were the mountains, not a hint of shine in them,
The land too seemed, lifeless and dull
But then at last, it came

The mountains awakened first, with the virgin touch of glimmer
From behind them, to change the course, rose the extravagant sun
Thus began the rejoice, thus the birds began to flutter,
Thus the awakening dawned, the slumber disappeared

The trees lit up, so ecstatic were they
The insects smiled, their eyes got back their glimmer
The seas smiled too, when hit by the sun’s ray
The animals were filled with pleasure

The forest was in the depths of my heart, nowhere else
And the exuberant sun, it is you
The light in you, annihilated my darkness
The shine awakened this lifeless mess

But after the day, comes the night
The sun leaves alone the trees, abandons the mountains
The glimmer and cheer, is lost out of sight
And without a warning, lifeless becomes the forest again
